New CAMERA!!! + a Mini Haul :) + Shoes/Sneakers + mini EOTD *PIC HEAVY*

WHOOT WHOOT!!!

I finally got my Canon SD870 IS Elph from Amazon.com for $260 (including shipping/handeling for 2 day delivery). Pretty expensive but it was paying that, or $300 + tax at the store, so I save practically $50 vs the stores.

I took some pictures of my new camera (using my old camera of course--can't take a pictre of the new camera by using the new camera lol)

and here's my old camera that I am retiring. Thank you dear Canon A520 for taking care of producing pictures for me for the couple of years and happy memories. I am officially retiring you so you can rest while your older sibling Canon870 will do the job for you

and this is the look I wore today when i went out shopping with my boyfriend. Sorry my makeup isn't fresh. This is me after wearing it for practically over 8 hours (in HOT Texas weather!). The vibrancy of the color wore off. And these pictures are taken by my new camera :) Hope you like these pictures better than my old camera! haha and sorry for the low lighting. I'm still playing around with my camera trying to find the best lighting and stuff.

shoot I didn't realize how many lines/wrinkles I've got going around my eyes! I need some eye cream ASAP!!! O___O

I didn't use any mascara since I didn't feel like it today.

I used:
-Amuse Ultra Diamond eyeshadow in Princess and used the lightest pink
-NYX e/s in Rust on the outer corner (used just a tiny bit but you can't see since most of the colors faded)
-Loreal Line Intensifique Liquid Liner Felt Tip
-Loreal HIP Paint in Lofty (as base)

And I think I'm gonna go back tomorrow to get these shoes that my bf picked out for me. They are K-Swiss. At first I thought they were really bulky but actually I think I like them now :) I hope nobody buys my size! BTW these pictures were taken by my old camera so they are a bit fuzzier.

please dont mind my weird face. I was really concentrating on taking the picture XD

Moving on, here's some random pics from the outlet:

I want the Bunnie!!

lol my bf's finger pointing at the pineapple Pooh bear

me excited about my new camera :D

Thank yall for looking! Sorry I didn't post up pics for a while--this post definitely shows why! I've been waiting for my new camera to come in!! and now it finally has. I'm soooooo happy ^___^

OH WAIT I forgot to show you what I got at the Outlet!

2 NYX Doll Eyes Mascara and NYX lipgloss in Beige!

and get this, the lipgloss was the ONLY lipgloss on clearance for $1.95!! I was so lucky that the only lipgloss on clearance was the only color I was wanting to buy--Beige!!

i love the nyx mascara picture there where the girl's lashes look completely different from the supposedly "close up" zoom pic of her lashes. they look nothing alike! but nonetheless, i got the mascara and that's what matters

Survey Stolen from Christiana :)

My Foundation: I want and need to use mineral foundation, but have yet to find my HG since semi-matte for EM isn't working out for me :(

My Mascara: NYX doll eyes mascara volume

My Blush: NARS Orgasm/Milani Luminous(haven't tried this out yet but i kno its the equivalent as Orgasm)

My Day Cream: I use Olay Complete (in the jar) for combination/oily skin. I rub a small amount between my fingers and then pat it all over my face. Then I apply Neutrogena Dry-touch sunscreen spf55. I want to try out the Aveeno sunscreen for face SPF30 since it seems to feel thinner for the face. The aveeno got good recs from Allure magazine. Its spf30/45 spray sunscreen also got good props from Allure--ima have to check those out

My Lipstick: I don't really like lipstick--I prefer a lipgloss that's medium-pigmented, so it's not quite a lipgloss, but not full liquid lipstick either. So far I'm liking my NYX

My Beauty Product Brand: I'm really loving NYX right now, even though I barely barely have any from their group, but from what I do have, I love them all and use them the most out of all my other products. I am also open to other brands such as maybelline, covergirl, milani, etc

My Essential Beauty Product: my face wash! I love my Aveeno Ultra-Calming foaming cleanser and my Neutrogena blackhead scrub. I saw some good props from Allure's also about Neutrogena stress control line, so Ima have to check that out too!

My Favorite Makeup Product: powder, so my face looks clean, and not red, but I still am trying to find the perfect powder that won't break me out, that is my color, affordable, and gives at the least medium coverage

My Perfume: i dun wear perfume, but I do like Clinique Happy and some others...

My Nails: I don't do anything to my nails--they're good as is.

My Feet: I don't do anything to my feet other than soap them in the shower. Sometimes I'll give a scrub, if I remember. And Ima haveta get started on painting my toes soon for summer!

My Hands: at this moment I'm using this small squeeze tube of Aveeno Daily Moisturizer. VERY moisturizing, but not sticky. I like it :)

Three Products to bring on a deserted island: uh...beauty-wise, I would bring sunscreen, mineral foundation (when i find my HG), and face wash

Woman I Admire for their Beauty: I love how glowy Hayden Panettiere's makeup looks and i love how Kristin Kreuk looks too--always minimal makeup but looks so fresh. I'm also loving Miranda Kerr's looks since they always look so fresh and dewy

Woman with the Best Sense of Style: jessica alba, hayden, aly & aj ( i like the medium-girly look)

My Ultimate Dream: have a job that i'm, at the least, ok with, not dreading to go to work. I'd like to have the job well-paid, or at least above $40K. Get married to my bf :), travel the world, buy lotsa stufff ^_^ , have kids, and be the best momma I can be

My Favorite Fashion Publication: I like Vogue mags & allure

Products Contemplation

Man there's so many products i want to try right now, but don't really have the car or money to get it....pooooo -_-....if I did...would it seem crazy to my Walgreens if I return too many things after trying them all? XD

Have yall been to your convenient store to return a whole buncha cosmetics and gotten weird stares or have been rejected/denied to return the items? I don't know, I feel bad when I return something....but it's great to return when the product doesn't work out...hmm..iono..sorry, just thinking out loud.

So here are some products that I have been wanting to try out or to actually get:

Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder in Sand $8-9

I heard so many great reviews that this product has done for us ladies with oily skin. I even see this girl use it in my class, and although the color doesn't match her, it makes her face look really smooth, but not cakey, so that girl in my class has been an enticement for me to get one. i messaged a few people on MUA about the colorings, and have concluded that Sand is the only color that I can hope that would match me. A girl said that if you use their powder puff, the powder goes on LIGHTER than in the pan, but if you use a brush, it goes on your face exactly how you see it in the pan, so that's weird >.>..... My main concern with this product is finding the correct color and whether my skin will react to it or not. After reading EVERY SINGLE REVIEW on EVERY page, it has proven that this really soaks up the oil and does a great job at keeping the oilies at bay, so i'm not too worried about that. I just wanted to try this product out..and if it doesn't work, i wanna return it. Iono...

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse $2-4

i've posted this in the ABB forum but i don't think anybody has seen it and I haven't gotten a response yet. But anyway, I saw in a youtube video clip of "extra" or one of those tv shows that talk about celebrities and then fashion/beauty, and that hairstylist used it, and the model's hair looks freakin amazing, and this stuff is really cheap, so I wanted to try it out. I dont' think it has alcohol either, if I remember correctly. I am so freakin desperate to find a hair product that can hold the curls in my hair that is cheap and affordable and readily available in the stores since I don't shop online.

Here's the link to that video of the man using the product on the model, in case yall were curious about the results:

Almay Amazing Lasting 16 Hour Eye Pencil

My friend recommended me this because she said she bought it on a whim, but yet when she fell asleep on her bed and woke up, the liner didn't smudge at all for her, and the pigment is really good, but of course not perfect black. I have been thinking about this product since my Styli-Style is iffy for me. My Styli-Style is good in the fact that it lasts...but it TUGS on my skin and the black is too light ish. The pencil isn't smooth and it doesn't glide and it's hurting my eyelid...so I don't wanna really use it. What i'm worried about for this Almay product is if it's also tugging or not. My friend is caucasian doesn't care too much about tugging, so I don't think I can get an unbiased point of view about the eyeliner..but I'll go ask her again. anyhoo..yea...this seems enticing to try due to the staying power and the apparently decent-good pigment

I've read all the reviews I possibly could about these products and they're all a hit or miss, so im a bit hesitant.

Have any of yall tried these products yet or know of a friend who's tried it? What do you think of it? What are your opinions? TIA :)

Lame Title & Some Product Review Updates

Thank yall for the encouragement from my last post! I appreciate it a lot :)

It helped me look forward to college a bit more, even though I'm still scared despite I'm still gonna be living in the same house in the same city.

Things just feel so weird right now...it's like, I just can't wait to get started on life where I can get a good paying job and be able to buy my own stuff, have my own car, and have my husband and be independent. But at the same time...I feel sad and very much so nostalgic because for the last decade of my life, walking the same school halls seeing the same people at the same time every day has become such a routine that i'm so used to doing, and now i'm going to a university where there's gonna be a HUGE population practically 10X the amount of people I'm used to seeing and I'll see a wider variety of people and meet lots of them as well.

I'm scared of what will happen...but at the same time not. iono...i'm just confused of where i feel and stand at this moment.

But aside from that, i took my summerschool community college COMPASS test so I can exempt and skip college algebra, and whoot whoot I PASSED IT and I can go straight into Finite Math! *phew* I was scared I wasn't gonna pass it cuz it's been a while since I last did my algebra 2 and geometry, but whooooot i did! now I save myself time and money and can go straight to the math class that is required. I'm gonna take Accounting 1 and Finite Math first month of summer--I sure hope I ace it and most importantly, UNDERSTAND and actually LEARN, not just make a good grade. I LOVE learning and understanding what I am studying--it's such a great feeling to me so I am hoping I can gain a wealth of knowledge and be able to apply it to my career.

And sorry for the lack of pictures lately. I'm waiting to get my Canon SD870. I think I'm officially gonna get that camera model and my camera has been failing me lately so I don't really have a mood to post things until I have a camera that can perform the task correctly.

Okay onward to products and my opinions and what has been happening lately with them

Everyday Minerals in Fairly Light--Semi Matte

I wore this today for school. I wore Milk of Magnesia as my primer and to control oil, and I applied the EM. Now when I first applied it, it looked freakin PERFECTT..................BUT that face didn't last for the first hour I was at school unfortunately. It melted into my skin in less than an hour, WITH the Milk of Magnesia (I know MoM works because I use it with another product that i will mention later) Having that said, I was very disappointed when I looked in the mirror and I had to blot my face already. I'm wondering whether Matte or Intensive might do the trick, like how it has worked for Lurve, rather than use semi-matte. I can only sample this stuff later when I actually have my own credit card =/

Silk Naturals

.........this was very dissapointing. I first tried this on WITHOUT my Milk of Magnesia (MoM) and practically in half an hour my face was not only an oily mess, but my face looked WORSE than had I went with my face bare without any products at all. This was all in a 6-hr school day. THEN during April, I wore SN when I went out shopping at Khols, but this time WITH MoM, and it held out for...1-2 hours and then it got dewy, but more on the oily side. Not only that, but it OXIDIZED on me! I didn't see this oxidization when I first wore it school, perhaps cuz i was indoors and i rarely look at myself in the mirror at school, but that time outdoors, oh boy--oxidization action =( ...so in a nutshell, I won't be repurchasing SN in the future. Too bad though, it was seriously silky on my face.

Neutrogena Mineral Pressed Powder in Classic Ivory

With MoM on, this lasted me approximately 4 hours before it only got dewy, NOT oily, so that's a plus. The problem with this is the color, which is a given because it's hard to get makeup to match our asian skintone. This isn't yellow enough for my skin--it's slightly too neutral for me and slightly too light, but i'm liking the lasting power so far since nothing else has lasted 4 hours for me until I need to touch up or something. The other problem associated with this is that you have to have clear skin to use it.....which sort of beats the purpose of the powder in a way. At first I found it capable of layering, but it starts to get cakey on me on a few layers, so you have to keep this light on your face, allowing you to only have a sheer application and a sheer coverage layer. So when I wear this, it "mutes" out my flaws, but definitely doesn't cover them like I would want it to. I don't need extremely full-out coverage, but I just need like the medium/medium full like how you would get with Everyday Minerals. So I'll just use the rest of this for now and I'll have to either find the correct shade of this powder or move on to find my next makeup product victim for me to try out.

NYX Doll Eyes Mascara Volume

freakin AWESOME. I've been wearing this pretty often, and NO smudges, NO flakes, NO raccoon eyes, NO PROBLEM. I love that. i don't have to worry about my mascara running or irritating me at all! seriously! It still holds the curl on my lashes during the day and my lashes don't feel brittle. HOWEVER, the only thing I can think of is the removability of it. In my first review of this, I mentioned that it was easy to remove....but for some reason, I think I might have gotten "lucky" that time, and coincidently during my review-the-product-time. Ever since then it has been a bit difficult to remove. I'm using Pond's Cold Cream to remove it at this moment. When I have the time & money to go out on my own, I'll definitely try out that Neutrogena eye makeup remover that Lurve recommended to see if that would help out with the removal.

Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Hairspray

Did it last throughout my prom? absolutely....NOT. It might have been because it was REALLY windy that day, and also I live in a uber humid hot climate anyway so anything I use probably won't work too well. It died down before I left my house -_-......

However, I did use this hairspray lightly on another day when i went out to eat Pho with my mom. I curled my hair like how Hayden Panettiere usually wears her hair--casual loose curls, and i lightly spray on this hairspray and it actually held my hair flexibly. Now I didn't have enough "testing-time" to see whether it lasts hours, but at least it lasted an hour from what I know XD...I know an hour doesn't seem too much, and it isn't, so I'll have to try this out another time where I curl my hair and wear this hairspray to test it out more.

Loreal HIP Paint

It's mediocre. It's great to neutralize the eye area so that way the eyeshadow colors show up correctly, but it doesn't make my eyeshadow last as long as I want, but that's okay. I did ended up creasing a bit at the end of prom when I used this Loreal HIP Paint. Today even, when i wore a light coat of gold eyeshadow, my oily lids came through the HIP paint and my eyeshadow didn't stay on =/....my boyfriend bought me 3 of these, and I will use them all up before I buy anything else. He went through all the trouble to get them for me and I want to put them to use, even if they don't perform as well as they should.

Jane No-Show Oil-Free Concealer (squeeze tube, not the one with the application wand)

I like it, and it's really cheap, AND it's OIL-FREE, but the color doesn't match too well. I can get away with it when I apply it lightly for my mild acne scars, but if i apply it a bit heavier for my darker acne scars or to cover a pimple, it doesn't do too good of a job. And if you apply this to a place where it's dry, this accentuated my dry spots. To cover my dark circles, it wasn't up to par since the coloring was too neutral and didn't combat my dark circles and didn't cover them enough. I'll still use this product since I bought it for $1.79 (discounted bc I used a $2 coupon) and it works for those minor dots on the face, but I have yet to find something that can help me with my dark circles and my heavier scars.

Jane Finishing Powder in Colorless

It's not so colorless, honestly. I made the mistake of trying to use this as an actual powder to cover my face. Now it has enough pigment to cover your face, but this is specifically designed to be a FINISHING powder, so it doesn't work out too well since the coloring is soo off. So as long as you use this VERY LIGHTLY, it helps, but other than that, don't use this as an actual powder to cover your face and to depend on because the coloring makes your face look very DULL. Thought coverage is great, it's DULL. I don't think I will be repurchasing this, but again, I bought it for only $1.79 including that $2 coupon, so I don't feel as bad. This product got great reviews on MUA the last time I remembered, but its a hit or miss product so it's worth a try since it's so cheap, and it actually keeps my face relatively dry and oil-free, which is a great attribute of this product.

Hope that helps some people!

Happy :) & Operation New Me

OMGAHHH tomorrow's my AP Stats LAST TEST OF THE YEAR!!! yay!

That means, I officially do NOT have any more hard work after tomorrow...

actually wait, yes i do, but not for my HS, but for college. I gotta take my Math Placement exam for both my summerschool and university...poo...oh well.

Besides that, I'm happy that I don't really have anything else for school, so I decided to start taking care of myself more.

First thing I'm gonna do is---wear makeup! lol. Despite how much I love makeup, I NEVER wear it to school because my mom doesn't allow me to "show off" at school, but now since I don't have any more work to do, I have an excuse to wear makeup :) But I'm just gonna do the makeup light though.

After playing around with makeup at home, I came to the conclusion that I don't look my best with heavily dark eyeshadows that are "bright" colors. The only safe "dark" colors I look good with on is brown and dark purple. Have yall ever felt that after you applied makeup, you still feel like NONE of the colors show up on your eyelid? That's why I always pack on the eyeshadow and end up looking more done up than I need to be. I always see others apply their eyeshadows so lightly yet I can see them and they flatter the person's eyes, yet when I see myself, I can never see the eyeshadow. Hmm...I guess we are our own worst critics afterall ^^().

Also, I'm hoping to get a new camera since my Canon A520 is inconsistent. One minute it works and starts up, and then a few days later it starts to freeze on me, like I have mentioned in an earlier entry post. Plus it weighs a little more than 8 ounces, which means it weighs like half a pound, which is TOO much to carry in my purse. Having that said, maybe when I get my camera (I've got no clue when that will be), I can actually start taking pictures again and be able to capture the colors correctly and all. And overall, I'm pretty much tired of my camera that I have. Not only is it malfunctioning, but it's SO SLOW. I remember telling yall about how I couldn't capture the "kiss" and "ring exchange" moments during my cousin's wedding due to my camera slowness and malfunctioning--awful! So now I'll actually be able to take pictures with friends and my boyfriend and my family, and during vacations too, without having to worry about slowness and inaccurate colored blurry pictures. What I'm hoping to get is a Canon Powershot SD870 IS :) I played around with it in the store and I pretty much fell in love with it ^_^

Okay back to the makeup stuff and whatever. Now since I'm gonna go to college and will be 18 in almost a month, I thought to not only wear more makeup, but to look nicer in my overall appearance. Since I don't have to deal with HS dress code anymore, I'll have a better variety to wear my clothes. I thought to accessorize more too. I've been wearing the SAME ONE pair of earrings since MIDDLE SCHOOL. I don't think I've really exchanged it out and worn something different on a daily basis or even a monthly basis, so it's about time for a change! Maybe more necklaces, maybe paint my nails a bit more often and actually look clean and NOT frumpy! XD I always look SO tired and messy at school and I just want to polish up my look for a "new me" for college. Time for a change!

Neutrogena Hair Mask and Life Update

So I've pretty much been MIA. Why?

1) today was my AP Statistics Exam which they stupidly had to delay it from when its supposed to start at 11:30am, but instead they pushed it to 1pm and I got out of school around 4:30 -_-....

2) 2nd to last week of April I had a HUGE english research project due

3) last week of april was my english final

4) Psychology Disorder Research Project

5) this weekend was prom

6) Economics final is this friday

In a nutshell: I've been uber busy @_@

I haven't been active on ABB either. I would log in and look around and comment here and there, but then i rush off. So yea... i've disappeared for a good while due to my hectic schedule.

But now....I've just got my Economics final this friday and then one more test in ap stats on the 15th, and then i am totallyyyyyy DONE with school--bahahhahhah :)

......but 2 days after graduation my mom is making me go to community college summer school -_-......so back to work for me...i'm not allowed ANY break whatsoever. I can't even get a job. And I don't even have a car for me to get anywhere so I honestly do not know how I will be commuting to even get to college to get my degree if I don't have a car nor insurance! So in other words, my mom will be driving me 1st year in college....yea...not good. I feel like such a child -_-....

Anyway, so after reading Petitebelle's wordpress on how she loves Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, I decided to get one myself :) It seemed really enticing so I thought to go buy one to see what's this product got to offer for my hair.

Cost: $6.04, but it was $6.54 with tax

Where did you buy it?
Target, but you can probably find it at your local drugstore or grocery too

How soft does it make your hair feel?
On a scale 1 through 10, with 10 being super smooth, I'd say , after your hair dries (with your hair already brushed when it's drying), the smoothness/silkiness level is 8 to 8.5, but 7.5 at the lowest, but I'm giving the product the benefit of the doubt. I seriously loved my hair and I could instantly feel the difference (my bf did too)

Does the softness last until the next time you condition your hair with this? aka does it last a week since this is a weekly mask?
I've only used it once so far on Friday May 2, 2008, and today's May 6, 2008, so thus far, with regular shampooing and conditioning every day (with suave products), my hair still maintains its softness, BUT I did lose a bit of the softness that you feel on the very day you condition your hair, unfortunately. So basically the softness level started from around an 8, and then 4 day after, it's down to maybe a 6.5, up to 7, so it really didn't diminish THAT bad, but to be on the safe side, I want to say that I do feel a difference of decrease of softness over the past 4 days. However, my hair is still softer than before I conditioned it, so that's a plus :)

How did you use your hair mask and how long did you leave it on for?
Like how Petitebell did hers, which is basically following the directions on the tub/jar. Instead of conditioning with my normal conditioner from the bottle, I "replaced" that conditioner with my Neutrogena for that one use. I smeared it all over my hair and "finger combed" my hair to try to evenly distribute the product. To be honest, I think I put a bit too much because I underestimated the thickness of the conditioner. When I put it on, I kept thinking that it wouldn't spread out enough, but I was wrong. All I had to do what keep on finger combing gently through and it'll spread around. I left it on for WAYYYY longer than the recommended time because I was shaving in the shower haha. I left it on for 10 minutes instead of the "3 to 5 minutes" that was written on the tub. Oh well, it made my hair soft so I'll leave it on for up to 10 minutes trying to get the most out of the product.

Smell good? Bad? No oder?
To me, it smells REALLY good. In my opinion it has this "sweet citrus" smell. It isn't fully citrus, but isn't fully sweet, so that's why i said "sweet citrus". It's mixed in with this "fresh clean laundry" scent too, but that's just me..someone else may have a different opinion than me. So in other words, it depends on your taste and what scent you prefer or don't prefer.

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
Does its job: 4 out of 5 stars
Ease of using it: 4 out of 5 stars
Would I buy it again? YES!
