This is a scheduled post btw. I'm writing this on Thursday but I'll be posting this on Friday so that I have time to write this review and do the video for it.
Here's the video review on it. Please watch, like, subscribe, and comment! :)
I'll start off with the SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream
*NOTE* I wear this with translucent finishing powder so that will affect the staying power of the BB cream. I don't wear it without translucent powder so I don't know how long it lasts without it.
EDIT:
This review is for INDOOR environment. Outside environment is Texas heat and this won't last 4-5 hours. I tried today (3/31/12) and it felt heavy on the skin and slightly sticky, but it still lasted throughout the day super dewy. Not too bad. Lasted about 2-3 hours in 90 degree outdoor weather. But that's to be expected. I don't think any makeup really lasts in high humidity and high heat :(
Description:
Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA+
Rich with aloe, which possesses excellent hydrating properties and soothing effect, this multi-functional skin care product (UV protector and blemish corrector) provides moisture and nutrition to your skin while providing protection from UV rays.
Packaging:
Very hygienic with the squeeze tube tip and it makes it much easier to control how much you want to squeeze out. I like this a lot. It's no nonsense packaging and it's compact to travel with. As for the looks of the packaging, I'm not picky. It's a pretty minty green color with simple SkinFood labeling. The labeling on the back is all Korean so I cannot read it, except for the Description that I have already written above.

Smell:
It smells like fresh aloe vera and smells VERY good. For those who are smell sensitive, this might be a little bit overpowering for you. But to me, it smells fresh and amazing.
Ingredients list:
I don't want to post this blogger's picture of the ingredients list because I don't have her permission to post her picture, so please visit her review on this product to look at the ingredients: http://kimoko.livejournal.com/200405.html
The Finish:
It provides me a dewy finish WITHOUT translucent powder. With translucent powder it doesn't give me a matte look, but it gives me a "normal skin" look if that makes any sense xD It goes from dewy to normal. At the same time, despite that it has a dewy ish finish, it FEELS slightly powdery to the touch, which I like.
Coverage:
It can go from sheer to medium to medium full, but NOT at all full coverage unless you pile it on, then it'll look cakey. For me I wear it at medium coverage and then just dab on extra at my acne scars so my face doesn't look caked on. It provides a rather natural look to the skin that I really like vs the "super made up look"

How Long it Lasts:
As I have mentioned in the note above, I use this with translucent powder so I don't know how long it'll really last without it, so I'm sorry about that. With translucent powder it stays on for about 4 hours until I need to blot (though I'm lazy and don't blot and still look ok/extra dewy). But keep in mind, I have combination oily skin, so for those with more normal to dry skin types, this will last a LOT longer, even without the translucent powder. Honestly even at the 4 hour mark my skin still looks pretty decent enough to not blot so I can maybe up this to 5 hours? But again let me emphasize this is with combination oily acne prone skin with translucent powder. I think I said that a bajillion times now but I don't want someone buying this giddily and end up feeling disappointed so I just want to clarify and repeat to make sure no one is mixing things up.
PROS:
- Cheap at $11.36 free fast shipping on ebay. Ebay seller link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160548031269?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
- Lasts 4-5 hours, which is a pro considered for my oily skin
- Smells good
- Hygienic squeeze tube
- Natural look
- Easily spreadable
- Doesn't give dry patches/it's moisturizing
CONS:
- Only TWO shades! #1 and #2 . I got #1, which is about NC20 ish skin. It blends well into my skin but geez, only two shades? Though I know that's just like any other BB cream. They hardly have any shades
- Have to buy online because I can't find any in store
Extra:
- To me this is a Pro, but it has SPF. Some people are allergic to SPF so I just put this aspect aside
Overall Rating: 4/5
Repurchase? Yes
PHEW that was long, but THERE'S MORE.
Now time to review the Shills Natural Science SPF30 BB Cream one!
Description:
All in Korean even though it's made in Taiwan so I cannot translate :(
Packaging:
Dislike to an extent. I still like it's in a squeeze tube but I don't like that it's in a metal squeeze tube so SOMETIMES I dispense out too much. But overall the packaging is alright. I like the Skinfood packaging better. It has a better grip and feel, but this one physically LOOKS nicer.
Smell:
I can BARELY smell a thing. It's definitely not as strong of a smell as the Skinfood one. This one just smells "natural" and a slight hint of floral, but you can barely smell it. I think nose sensitive people would appreciate this.
Ingredients List:
The Finish:
I think it's rather dewy, dewier than the Skinfood. This one doesn't seem to have any oil control. I REALLY have to put on translucent powder on this one for it to stay on. I think when I got the tube, all the oil got stuck at the bottom so after you get past the first few blobs, you'll get the actual product and it's fairly good, but still dewy.
Coverage:
This is Sheer to Medium at best. But mostly leaning on the sheer side. This doesn't cover my acne scars nearly as well as the Skinfood. This leans more of a heavier tinted moisturizer for those who have normal skin and just want to "perfect it". My friend (whom I've shown on this blog before in my photoshoot blogpost *CLICK HERE for the post*) wore it in that photoshoot and her skin is near perfect and it just made her skin look even better. So for people like me who have acne scars and need some coverage, this isn't the product to buy. I can still wear this out of the house and feel confident about my skin, but not as much as Skinfood. This still provides me a nice effect that brightens my face. One thing I don't like is that when you put it on, it isn't as "smooth" as the Skinfood. It's SLIGHTLY patchy. Like, I don't really see the makeup on me. I see mostly my skin and "some product" on top of it when you look up close. When you look from afar is ok.
How Long It Lasts:
With translucent powder, 2-3 hours at best :( Again, this is on combination oily acne prone skin. Can't stress that enough. My friend got about 4-6 hours on her normal skin off of this product without translucent powder so that gives yall an idea of how long it lasts on each skin type. I'm pretty disappointed with how long it lasts :( I tested this product out before from my friend and it seemed great but now that I own one, it doesn't seem to perform as good. I won't be repurchasing this.
PROS:
- Affordable costing $9.xx at sasa.com if you can get free shipping, but shipping costs $6 so if you buy this alone it'll be a grand total of $15.xx which isn't so bad
- low scent for nose sensitive people
- brightens complexion when you have it on
CONS
- Have to buy online. Can't find in stores
- Too natural of coverage. Not enough for acne scars
- No oil control leading to it not lasting long on the skin
- Slightly patchy on the skin as explained in the review
- Only two shades, I picked the lighter one and it's made for NC15-20 ish skin btw
Overall Rating: 2.5/5 (3.5/5 or 4/5 for normal skinned people with nearly perfect skin)
Repurchase? No
