So basically I started a cooking blog where I test out recipes I find, because all of you know that a lot of recipes you find online or on Pinterest just don't turn out the way you wanted and the way the author promised and pictured in photos.
In other words, I will be your guinea pig in these recipes that I follow or modify to my liking. I am an extremely picky eater and I need food that's also boyfriend approved, so please follow me in my journey in testing out different foods!
The cooking blog is geared towards someone who is on a budget like I am, want something tasty, needs to be boyfriend approved, but is also healthy, with some indulgences in moderation to keep your sanity.
Since I cook regularly, that blog will be more updated than this beauty blog. I anticipate making some youtube videos to add to the blog post so that the people who prefer a video can watch, and the people who want to read can read and look at pictures.
So I Spent around $90-something USD on these Zoeva brushes. They're supposed to be $70 or $78 USD but after paying for shipping and I believe VAT, They ended up being $90-something :(
Expensive, but for 8 brushes that equals out to around $11-12 a brush which in retrospect isn't that expensive.
So first impression is that they are smaller than I thought. They appear more like travel brushes than full brushes. I was kind of hoping for a super fluffy powder brush but instead received something that is full, but not fluffy, and is travel sized.
I'm not necessarily complaining. It has its good and bad to why it's travel sized, but I got what I got and that's all there is to it.
Something else I noticed was how soft the brushes were. I don't have any "nice" professional brushes other than my MAC 217. Yes, one mid-range brush. Zoeva brushes will be my first nice, but affordable range of brushes I've gotten in my life. The quality from what I can tell is great and at a decent price when looked at it individually.
I have yet to actually use the brushes to apply makeup so this isn't a review. More of a show and tell blogpost about these brushes.
So far I've been "telling", so now I shall "show" what these brushes are like!
I'm pretty excited to use them! I just got them in today.
Now I just gotta wait a week or two more to receive my other beauty products! It's taking so long because they're shipping from Asia. Cheap price but man takes forever.
By the way, CLICK HERE if you want to purchase the brushes yourself! No, this is not a sponsored or affiliated link. I'm just simply wanting to share with you where I bought it myself.
Mk I'll be using these brushes soon and I'll report back to yall whether they're good or not. The only thing I cannot review is the eyeliner brush because I don't have potted gel eyeliner to use. I only use pencil and liquid eyeliner.
So I tried out the "Creme de la Creme" creamy white shade of Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel Nail polish last week and they only lasted a few days because I did hard work on the nails. I also was picking at them. I will do an official review on them later after I test out this week on this blue colored nail polish since I won't have hard work to do on my nails other than dish washing.
Anyway here's what Tidal Wave looks like on the nails. It's a beautiful cobalt blue. Love it! This is two coats and using the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat.
Expect a review on this polish sometime next week!
So since I completed my skincare wants, I now will make a list of fashion things I want.
1. Isabel Marant Dicker boots in either Black Leather or Cognac Leather $650
2. Stuart Weitzman Over the Knee 5050 flat boots $635
3. Balenciaga Classic Mini City Bag $1325
4. TopShop White Sundress $75 on sale
5. Asos white dress $63 on sale
I guess that's it for now. I might update this later to add more. But yea, I really want these things. Though for the last two white dresses, I could have either or. No need to have two white full skirt dresses.
So as many of you know, I am a skincare junkie who has tried MANY different things to help my acne and take away scars and things to remove makeup and what not.
Many things did NOT work for me. But I am not giving up. I am trying out using raw honey right now at night and leave it on my skin overnight since I hear it helps. I'm not diligent with using it but I *should* be more diligent because I might actually see results from it.
If yall have tried any of the below products, please let me know if yall liked it and if it worked. Thanks!
Anyway, here's my list of products I want to try out pertaining to skincare:
1. SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion $70 for 5 oz.
2. Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil $31
3. Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser $22
4. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate $46
5. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence $105-290
One day when I have the money I will be able to afford buying these items. Til then, I will keep these under my To-Buy list for the future.
Anything yall are wanting to buy lately? Any products yall heard is good? If so, do share in the comments! :)
I had the pleasure of having pictures taken by my friend from www.bycinderella.com . Please check out her website!
One picture that is watermarked with my blog site name on it is taken by my friend's cousin. The rest of the pictures are taken by my friend from By Cinder Ella.
She's a great photographer who mainly does photography for maternity shoots and newborn babies, but she also does regular ones like the ones shown below for people like me.
Cinder Ella has a good eye and knows when the click the camera and gave me good advice on how to pose and look good in photos since I had NO IDEA what I was doing. If you were there during the photoshoot, you'd CRINGE looking at me trying to pose. I just don't know what I'm doing! But thanks to Cinder Ella, I got some poses in and these are the shots she came up with.
The first picture below features a Theory button down shirt and Abercrombie Kids white lace skirt with Forever21 heels.
The other pictures feature the "Helen" dress from Diane Von Furstenburg and the same Forever21 shoes and a statement necklace borrowed from Cinder Ella
That's all folks!
For an organized list of what I wore, even though I stated it already, here's what I wore:
Button Down: Theory
Skirt: Abercrombie Kids
Blue Dress: Diane Von Furstenburg in the style "Helen"
Statement Necklace: unknown. Borrowed from By Cinder Ella

So I've been obsessed with La Madeleine for a few years now. It's not a legitimate French Cafe like you'd find over in Paris or something but I haven't really encountered other French related restaurants around where I live.
Despite it not being legit French food, it's still very tasty, though high in calories as with most restaurants.
Here pictured is the Chicken Friand.
It's basically mushrooms chicken inside of a savory sauce inside of a puff pastry topped off with mushroom sauce. It's absolutely delicious. It's $7 for this tiny piece but it fills me up personally. For a reasonably sized male, I don't think this dish would be filling enough.
Isn't is so tasty looking?
Now I filled out a random survey on my phone to get a free dessert. I chose the Lemon Tart. It normally sells for about $4-5 so getting that for free is awesome.
The edge kinda broke off in the back but it doesn't matter. Tastes great.
These pictures were from about last month. I did go to La Madeleine today though, but I got the Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta instead. I didn't take a picture of it because I didn't carry my DSLR with me but that's okay.
Sorry for the non-beauty related post. I just wanted to share with y'all this deliciousness.
So it is highly important I stress to you this is about the WATERPROOF version because I personally feel, although I have not tried the non-waterproof version, that the regular version would not carry one of the important aspects of this mascara.
Anyway, lets get on with the review.
Description taken from their website:
"Finally, bold volume without any of the bulk.
Patented Lash Catcher brush has 3 bristles per lash to make every lash count
Catches, coats, and de-clumps each lash to make them all fatter and flirtier
Instant clump-free volume
Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested
Waterproof, also available in Washable formula"
Does it live up to the claims?
Yes, it is clump free while providing volume after about 2-3 coats
It also provides some length, but not a crazy amount
I wear contact lenses and it doesn't bother my eyes
I have cried lightly in this mascara and it wasn't running down my face, so from my experience it's waterproof
IT HOLDS A CURL OMG. There are so many mascaras that just can't hold a curl but this one can very well, especially with my Asian straight lashes
It's very affordable since it's a drugstore item
Stores like CVS and Walgreens sometimes has BOGO50% off Maybelline items so be on the look out
Readily found in most stores, such as Target, Walmart, grocery stores, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc
Because it's waterproof, it is hard to get off, even with an oil-based makeup remover.
Onward to pictures!
Also, just to note, I used a Koji No.71 Eyelash curler to curl my lashes. Ever since I started using No.71, I never went back to any other mediocre eyelashcurler. But it is time for me to get a new No.71 curler because the rubber pad on the one I currently have is worn out.
I will update this post once I get back to Tuscaloosa to make a review video. I don't have my tripod with me here in Houston so I cannot film :(
Alright I hope this helps some of yall out. Let me know in the comments about your thoughts on this mascara!
