FOOD: La Madeleine Chicken Friand and Lemon Tart

So I've been obsessed with La Madeleine for a few years now. It's not a legitimate French Cafe like you'd find over in Paris or something but I haven't really encountered other French related restaurants around where I live.

Despite it not being legit French food, it's still very tasty, though high in calories as with most restaurants.

Here pictured is the Chicken Friand.

It's basically mushrooms chicken inside of a savory sauce inside of a puff pastry topped off with mushroom sauce. It's absolutely delicious. It's $7 for this tiny piece but it fills me up personally. For a reasonably sized male, I don't think this dish would be filling enough.

Isn't is so tasty looking?

Now I filled out a random survey on my phone to get a free dessert. I chose the Lemon Tart. It normally sells for about $4-5 so getting that for free is awesome.

The edge kinda broke off in the back but it doesn't matter. Tastes great.

These pictures were from about last month. I did go to La Madeleine today though, but I got the Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta instead. I didn't take a picture of it because I didn't carry my DSLR with me but that's okay.

Sorry for the non-beauty related post. I just wanted to share with y'all this deliciousness.

Hope all of y'all are doing well.

See yall later~

REVIEW on my UPDATED Holy Grail Mascara: Maybelline One by One Mascara in WATERPROOF

So it is highly important I stress to you this is about the WATERPROOF version because I personally feel, although I have not tried the non-waterproof version, that the regular version would not carry one of the important aspects of this mascara.

Anyway, lets get on with the review.

Description taken from their website:

"Finally, bold volume without any of the bulk.

  • Patented Lash Catcher brush has 3 bristles per lash to make every lash count
  • Catches, coats, and de-clumps each lash to make them all fatter and flirtier
  • Instant clump-free volume
  • Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested
  • Waterproof, also available in Washable formula"

Does it live up to the claims?

  1.  Yes, it is clump free while providing volume after about 2-3 coats
  2. It also provides some length, but not a crazy amount
  3. I wear contact lenses and it doesn't bother my eyes
  4. I have cried lightly in this mascara and it wasn't running down my face, so from my experience it's waterproof
Other perks:
  • IT HOLDS A CURL OMG. There are so many mascaras that just can't hold a curl but this one can very well, especially with my Asian straight lashes
  • It's very affordable since it's a drugstore item
    • Stores like CVS and Walgreens sometimes has BOGO50% off Maybelline items so be on the look out
  • Readily found in most stores, such as Target, Walmart, grocery stores, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc
  • Because it's waterproof, it is hard to get off, even with an oil-based makeup remover.
Onward to pictures!

Also, just to note, I used a Koji No.71 Eyelash curler to curl my lashes. Ever since I started using No.71, I never went back to any other mediocre eyelashcurler. But it is time for me to get a new No.71 curler because the rubber pad on the one I currently have is worn out.

I will update this post once I get back to Tuscaloosa to make a review video. I don't have my tripod with me here in Houston so I cannot film :(

Alright I hope this helps some of yall out. Let me know in the comments about your thoughts on this mascara!

See yall later

PURCHASED: DiorSkin AIRFLASH Spray Foundation in 200 Beige Clair/Light Beige and Dior Backstage Foundation Brush #12

So I gave myself an early birthday present.

I spent $115 today on only two Dior products. OUCH MAN. That's EXPENSIVE.

But I think it actually might be worth it. The foundation looks great on. Indoors it's a perfect match but in natural light it's a smidgen dark but I mean, it'll have to do. I haven't found a perfect match from any brand that I've experienced so far.

So I got two items like I said above and in the title.

1)  DiorSkin AIRFLASH Spray Foundation in 200 Beige Clair/Light Beige
2) Dior Backstage Foundation Brush #12

And here are the pictures:

The coverage is medium, buildable to NEARLY full but not completely full like Revlon Colorstay. I have it on as medium so you can still see a bit of my acne scars peeking through but not much. When I got home I put on my Tarte Smooth Operator finishing powder (it's white but goes on translucent). I also have Dior Nude BB Cream thinly spread underneath the foundation so it acts as a primer with minimal coverage.

The makeup artist/saleswoman claimed this lasts all day indoors, however, she doesn't know how it lasts outdoors, so I guess I'll have to find out for myself. If it could last all day indoors then I'd be a happy camper. The picture seems to not really capture that the foundation is actually very smooth.

I found out about this foundation through both RaeView and Kandee Johnson. Both seem to love it and made their faces look flawless. I guess I'd have to try this out with my Hourglass Mineral Veil Face Primer since that's the primer I currently have.

For those who are the same skin color as me, I'm roughly an NC20-25 so that gives you an idea of the color of this foundation on me even though it's not exactly the same.

Anyway, I'll do an in depth review on this later once I use it out and about with my normal primer and what not.

See yall later :)
